Evaluation Question Two

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?

Representation of Characters: Becky (possessed girl) is kept with the same mise en scene throughout, meaning that her hair, make up, eyes etc are all kept the same. Her outfit is also the same throughout the trailer, yet on the magazine it changes to a white top, this is because of the background of my magazine. The rest of the girls are all presented the same throughout too.

Good Vs Bad: Clear binary opposites are seen through all three, as the villain can clearly be seen and the victims are obvious in the trailer. 

Color: The dark colours and the use of red are used on all three as they all have sinister connotations. The colours of the font especially on the poster and magazine seem the compliment the horror genre as they're thorough representations or contradictions between characters. For example the use of white on the magazine, has connotations of innocence which is what the possessed girl was like before the possession took place.

Lighting: Extremely similar between each of the 3 media productions, the use of the low key lighting conveys the horror impact, for example the shadowing on the poster is very similar to the shadowing on the magazine. This was done with both the low key lighting and the flash use, and additionally the use of photoshop. In addition to this we can see on the trailer there is excessive low key lighting towards the end when the possession has become explicit.

Location: The location is the same throughout all the 3 products, on the poster especially I added a picture to the background with decreased opacity as an attempt to add more narrative. This is then shown within my trailer.

Vox Pops. 

These vox pops are explaining that the audience have also told me and given me valid reasons on how they think the 3 productions work together and how the genre in explicit through things such as the colour scheme and design.
